Next month, Warner Bros.' massive DC Comics Extended Universe will be launched with the highly-anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While an exact start date has not been given, we reported in November that production will begin on Justice League Part 1 and Justice League Part 2 sometime this spring in London. While we wait for more updates on this two-part adventure, star Henry Cavill took to his Instagram page earlier today, revealing that he has already started training for this highly-anticipated movie. Here's what he had to say to his social media followers today.

"Warm up phase for Superman training started today! Posting this pic to set myself a minimum goal...and force myself to actually keep going haha!"

It was previously believed that both Justice League Part 1 (November 11, 2017) and Justice League Part 2 (June 14, 2019) will be shot back to back, but producer Charles Roven recently shot down those rumors. Zack Snyder is directing both films from a script by his Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice writer Chris Terrio. Last summer, it was announced that screenwriter Chris Terrio had completed the screenplay for Justice League Part 1, though it isn't known how many drafts the story has gone through.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will serve as a gateway into both Wonder Woman and Justice League Part 1. And it will introduce Jason Momoa as Aquaman. Also expected to make an appearance at the end of this superhero battle royal are Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. Though, their presence has never been confirmed by anyone associated with the movie. It's believed that Green Lantern won't make his presence known until the third act of Justice League Part 1. It was confirmed at Comic-Con that the reboot is officially titled Green Lantern Corps. It will be the last of the solo adventures in DC's Phase 1, and at this time, the Lanterns are the only superheroes yet to be cast. Tyrese Gibson is heavily rumored for the role of John Stewart. He has confirmed talks, but nothing official has ever been announced.

Next month's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is just the beginning, serving as a launching pad for Warner Bros. new DC Comics slate of movies. Just a few months after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters, Suicide Squad arrives on August 5, followed by Wonder Woman (June 23, 2017), Justice League Part 1 (November 17, 2017), The Flash (March 23, 2018), Aquaman (July 27, 2018), Shazam! (April 5, 2019), Justice League Part 2 (June 14, 2019), Cyborg (April 3, 2020) and Green Lantern Corps. (June 19, 2020).
