Fast Five director Justin Lin is teaming up with Universal Pictures once again to produce an untitled sci-fi project.

Bobby Glickert, who served as Justin Lin's assistant on Fast & Furious, pitched the project based on his outline and will produce and direct. The studio is seeking out a screenwriter. Little is known about the story of this untitled project, although it is said to be a cross between Heat and the Jason Bourne series. Here's what Justin Lin had to say about this new movie.

"Taking a step back, as a viewer, the tone and the gritty approach to the sci-fi genre taken here is something that hasn't been seen in a while."

No production schedule was given for this untitled endeavor. Justin Lin was all set to make Terminator 5 with Arnold Schwarzenegger, before the actor announced last month he is putting his acting career on hold to deal with his personal life. It seems this untitled project could be one to fill a void in Justin Lin's schedule.

We also reported last month that Justin Lin is also one of the eight finalists in contention to direct The Wolverine.
