Kate Beckinsale has been offered the starring role in the upcoming thriller The Disapppointments Room, which D.J. Caruso has signed on to direct.
The story, written by actor-turned-writer Wentworth Miller (Stoker), centers on a woman (Kate Beckinsale) who moves her family into a countryside Colonial mansion. She begins to lose her mental faculties when she learns about the house's violent past, and begins seeing visions of a dead girl.
Geyer Kosinski and Mark Damon are producing for Foresight Entertainment, which is selling the project at the American Film Market. Relativity Media is in final talks for domestic distribution.
Kate Beckinsale most recently starred in the Total Recall reboot, and she will next be seen in the upcoming thriller Eliza Graves. D.J. Caruso directed the recent drama Standing Up.
