The story resembles the trial of Amanda Knox, who was an American woman living in Italy. She became involved in the November 2007 murder of her British roommate Meredith Kercher. The victim was sexually assaulted, brutalized and then killed. Meanwhile, Rome-based Daily Beast senior writer Barbie Latza Nadeau follows the case and describes how the Knox family's heavy-handed efforts to control media coverage distorted the facts. The project is based on a book by the writer.
Production is slated to begin in Tuscany, Italy soon.
