Kate Hudson, Josh Gad, and Bill Hader have joined the voice cast of DreamWorks Animation's Me and My Shadow. We first reported on the project back in December 2010, when the studio announced this animated tale.

The story centers on Stan (Bill Hader), a shadow who wishes for a more adventurous life than being attached to the dull Stanley Grubbs (Josh Gad). Stan gets his wish when a dangerous crime in the shadow community forces Stan to take control of Stanley. Kate Hudson will voice Stanley's possible love interest.

Alessandro Carloni will make his feature directorial debut with Me and My Shadow, after serving as the head of story on How to Train Your Dragon. Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember are writing the screenplay, based on the original draft by Steve Bencich and Ron J. Friedman. Our first story from 2010 revealed Mark Dindal was directing Me and My Shadow, although he is no longer attached to the project.

DreamWorks Animation has set a November 13, 2013 release date, although it isn't known when production may begin on Me and My Shadow.
