Katherine Heigl has inked a deal to star in Ben Lewin's romantic drama A Moment to Remember.

The film, inspired by a Japanese TV show called "Pure Soul," centers on a fashion designer who contracts a disease that makes her memories fade away. After discovering the illness, her husband sets out to provide her with one last memory of love. The story was later adapted for Korean cinema.

Ben Lewin is directing with Scott Lambert, Scott Steindorff and Mark Amin are producing.

Katherine Heigl most recently starred in Julie Anne Robinson's comedy One for the Money. She will next be seen in The Big Wedding alongside Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton and Robin Williams.

Production is expected to begin this spring.
