Kathleen Turner has signed on to star in the upcoming comedy sequel Dumb and Dumber To for Universal Pictures and Red Granite Productions. No details were given in regards to her character.

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels return as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne from the 1994 comedy Dumb and Dumber, which took in $247 million worldwide from just a $17 million production budget. The project had been in development for years before Warner Bros. dropped the sequel in June. Eight days later, Universal Pictures and Red Granite signed on to co-finance and co-distribute. The story revolves around Lloyd and Harry hitting the road once again, this time to find the love child one of them may have sired, who is in need of a kidney.

Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly are directing from a screenplay by Sean Anders and John Morris (Sex Drive, That's My Boy). Production is scheduled to begin sometime this summer.
