The bad news? Bill & Ted 3 will not be next for actor Keanu Reeves. The good news? He is taking the lead in horror maven Eli Roth's latest psychological thriller Knock, Knock.

The story follows a happily married family man who is left alone for a long weekend. During this time away from his family, he is visited by two very beautiful women and things quickly grow out of control. The two woman are being played by Lorenza Izzo, who can be seen in Eli Roth's upcoming cannibal horror thriller The Green Inferno, and Ana de Armas, who recently starred in the Robert De Niro drama Hands of Stone.

Playing Keanu's wife is another The Green Inferno vet, Ignacia Allamand. Rounding out the cast are Colleen Camp, who also serves as a producer, and Aaron Burns, yet another holdover from The Green Inferno cast.

Knock, Knock has come together in record time, with Eli Roth writing the script alongside The Green Inferno scribes Nicolás López and Guillermo Amoedo. Keanu Reeves is said to have fallen love with the screenplay, and came aboard shortly after reading it.

Production is scheduled to start in just a few short days, with principal photography beginning April 14 in Santiago, Chile. The director had this to say about getting Knock, Knock together so fast.

"I had a window before I promote The Green Inferno, and I wanted to make a movie like Roman Polanski or Paul Verhoeven made when they were young, a classic psychosexual thriller that's not a horror movie, but would have everyone on the edge of their seats. Getting Keanu Reeves is amazing, he's a fine actor who is perfect for this. I feel I can have this movie ready for Toronto if I need to, and he's catching a plane tomorrow and we'll be fitting him for wardrobe right away."

Quite a lot of foreign sales companies have shown interest in the project, with a deal expected to be made at Cannes. Eli Roth promises to have a sizzle reel of the movie ready at that time.
