The Drudge Report has indicated that Rolling Stones' guitarist Keith Richards may be dropped from the upcoming sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides due to his stance on drugs in his new biography Life, which hits stands today.

Richards is set to appear in the highly anticipated fourth installment, reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow's father Captain Teague. Though his scenes have already been shot, Disney is rumored to be on the fence about including them in the finished sequel. Apparently, Disney executives are fearful that children who have grown to love the crusty Captain Teague will discover the guitarist's stance on drugs, which is quite positive.

In the book, Richards details how to safely get stoned by using 'high quality drugs'. And to also use these drugs in moderation. He is quoted as saying:

"It's not only the high quality of drugs I had that I attribute my survival to. I was very meticulous about how much I took. I'd never put more in to get a little higher. That's where most people f**k up on drugs."

Because of these statements in the book, an insider close to the production stated, "They very well could end up cutting Keith out of the new movie over this." There is no official word from Disney. But the Captain Teague action figure and doll was the most under-performing toy in the Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End merchandising line. So you wouldn't think they'd have to worry about this matter too much.
