Last week, we reported that Paramount's Untitled Jack Ryan Project suffered yet another setback, when director Jack Bender pulled out. The studio has moved quickly to get this reboot back on track, and is in talks with Kenneth Branagh to take the helm.

Last March, we reported that Paramount put the project on hold due to script issues. Screenwriter David Koepp took over the writing duties back in April. Chris Pine is attached to star as Jack Ryan, but the delays forced Paramount to move the actor's Star Trek 2 into production before this reboot. If Kenneth Branagh finalizes his deal, production will start in September, after Chris Pine wraps on Star Trek 2.

We also reported back in August that Kenneth Branagh will direct The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society for Fox Searchlight. No production schedule was given for that adaptation, so it may have to wait until after the Untitled Jack Ryan Project, or the studio might have to find another director.
