Kevin James is staying with Sony Pictures, as he sells his latest pitch Stranded to the studio, which will serve as a star vehicle for the comedian.

Tripper Clancy is the screenwriter behind the project. The story is being kept under wraps for the time being. It will be a family comedy mixed with adventure. And the Stranded title should offer a good hint at what's expected.

Kevin James came up with the idea with Todd Garner, the producer behind Scouts Vs. Zombies and Into the Storm, as well as Kevin James's own Here Comes the Boom. They will produce alongside Sean Robins from Broken Road.

While Tripper Clancy currently has no feature film credits to his name, he is writing Ambassadors at Fox and he has Winter Break set up at QED.

Kevin James will shoot Stranded after he completes the video game comedy Pixels, which is shooting now for a 2015 release, and the sequel Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, which is also set up at Sony.
