It seems that the producers behind last year's hit comic book adaptation Wanted are going back to the comics again. According to ICv2, Kickstart Entertainment has optioned the comic book Dear Dracula for a feature film adaptation.

The comic book was written by Joshua Williamson and illustrated by Vincente Navarette and the story revolves around a young boy who loves horror movies and decides to start writing letters to Dracula, the same way children write letters to Santa Claus on Christmas.

Williamson and Navarette are writing the screenplay, but it doesn't seem that a director has been attached as of yet. Williamson and Navarette said in an interview with Comic Book Resources that the project was initially developed as a stop-motion film, but now it will be an animated film instead.

We've taken the book and just added a whole new level to it," Williamson said in the interview. "We've kept everything from the book and expanded on it. If people enjoyed the book, they're going to love the movie."

No production schedule was released for the film.
