20th Century Fox is making preparations to begin the casting process on their superhero reboot Fantastic Four, with the studio testing for Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Sue Storm (The Invisible Girl) first.

Insiders claim that Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now) and Jack O'Connell (300: Rise of an Empire) are in line to get testing offers for the Reed Richards role, while Saoirse Ronan (The Host), Kate Mara (Transcendence) and Margot Robbie (About Time) will try out for Sue Storm.

The studio is looking to go much younger with this rebooted version, in hopes of drawing in a new audience to reinvigorate the franchise. It should also be noted that Michael B. Jordan (Chronicle, Fruitvale Station) is the only actor currently in contention to play Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), although that may change. The actor has been rumored to be up for the role since May. No actors have been mentioned to be up for either Ben Grimm (The Thing) or the villain yet.

Of all the actors mentioned, only Jack O'Connell may have a scheduling conflict, since he is about to begin production on Unbroken for director Angelina Jolie, which may overlap with this reboot's schedule. Fox is hoping to have cameras rolling on Fantastic Four in early 2014.

The casting news comes just days after we reported that Simon Kinberg was brought on to work on the script. However, the writer will only be providing a polish, instead of a full rewrite, giving the studio time to work out their test offers and check on the availabilities of other actors. Jeremy Slater, Michael Green, Seth Grahame-Smith and T.S. Nowlin have previously worked on the script.

Josh Trank is directing the reboot, with Gregory Goodman and Matthew Vaughn producing. Fox has not issued an official green light yet, until the script is completely finished.
