Kristen Wiig is known more so for making people laugh than she is for getting naked on screen, but that's all about to change with Welcome to Me, a new dramedy that will see the comedic actress stripping down in front of audiences for the first time.

In the past few years, Kristen Wiig has been quickly transferring her talents into more dramatic roles, with lead parts in Friends with Kids, Girl Most Likely, Hateship Loveship and the upcoming The Skeleton Twins. But Welcome to Me might be her most challenging job yet.

In the movie, she plays Alice Klieg, who suffers from a borderline personality disorder. After winning the lottery, she quits taking her meds and decides to launch her own talk show. It was Eliot Laurence's screenplay that drew her in, and she knew that she had to jump in with both feet.

"I'd never read a character like that. I got to a scene where it read, 'She's fully naked,' and I remember thinking: If I do this movie, I have to do this scene because it's really important to this script."

Even though any given nude scene will be frame captured to become widely available and scrutinized on the Internet in this new digital age, the actress didn't flinch when it came time to remove her clothes, instead deciding to really embrace the role and what it stood for.

Welcome to Me is directed by Shira Piven, wife of Adam McKay (known for his Will Ferrell collaborations such as The Other Guys and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby). Joining Kristen Wiig on screen are Linda Cardellini, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Tim Robbins.

Welcome to Me has already officially wrapped shooting and is now awaiting a release date.
