Director Robert Rodriguez must have taken a liking to pop star Lady Gaga, as he has not only cast her in his upcoming October sequel Machete Kills, but he's also given her a small role in his other highly anticipated sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.

Its not yet known whom she will be playing in this follow-up to the 2005 hit Sin City, nor is it known how big of a role she actually plays, but it sounds like it might be nothing more than a glorified cameo.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who is playing Johnny in the movie, revealed this bit of casting information while doing an interview with Jamn94.5, praising the pop singer for being a great actress.

"She was in Sin City 2. I did a part for [it]. Mr. Rodriguez asked me to be in, and Lady Gaga is in a scene of it. And I gotta say, she did a really good job. Like, she's a great actress. And I didn't know that. You know she came in and I was like, 'OK sure, they're having a huge pop star do a scene in the movie, I understand.' But then she came in and like, nailed it! She had her character down, and she was like a total pro and did a great job. I was really impressed."

What the two actors will be doing opposite each other is anybody's guess. Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character Johnny is written in the comic books as a middle aged man who falls in love with a younger woman. Johnny decides to kill the woman's father when its discovered that he is threatening to cut her out of his will.

In the segment 'Daddy's Little Girl', Johnny takes a gun left to his girlfriend Amy by her father, and shoot him down after the man refuses to grant their hand in marriage. Turns out the bullets are blank, though, and in turn, Daddy savagely beats Johnny to death. It is later revealed that Daddy is a sadist who kills to get aroused, specifically to have sex with his daughter Amy.

It has not yet been revealed who will play Amy, so its quite possible that Lady Gaga is playing this part. Its also possible that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will don old age make-up to play the role of Johnny.

What do you think? Are you happy to see Lady Gaga taking on more acting roles? Or do you think she should just stick to singing?
