Corbin Bernsen has signed on for a role in the gambling drama Lay the Favorite for Emmett/Furla Films and director Stephen Frears.

The story is based on the memoir written by Beth Raymer, which chronicles her rise from a Las Vegas cocktail waitress to one of the best sports gamblers in the nation. Rebecca Hall is playing Beth Raymer, with Corbin Bernsen portraying her father.

Stephen Frears is directing Lay the Favorite from an adapted script by D.V. DeVincentis. Randall Emmett, D.V. DeVincentis, Anthony Bregman, and Paul Trijbits are producing.

Production is currently under way on Lay the Favorite, although a release date has not been set.
