According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest sequel to the groundbreaking faith-based film Left Behind will get an unusual release: Cloud Ten Pictures will screen Left Behind: World at War at hundreds of churches nationwide the weekend of Oct. 21-23 and release it, through distributor Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, on DVD on Oct. 25.

The move is reminiscent of what 20th Century Fox did with The Passion of the Christ, mobilizing church groups to see the film in theaters and then buy the DVD. But Cloud Ten co-president Peter Lalonde said he's not exactly following the same playbook.
