The Wackness director Jonathan Levine has been hired to direct Legend for CBS Films. We reported back in February that CBS Films had acquired the Legend novel by Marie Lu.

The project takes place in an alternate future where North America has been split up and divided into two warring nations. The story centers on June, a teen prodigy hired to track down Day, a young Robin Hood-type. They both discover an amazing secret about their new government leaders.

Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen will produce Legend, although it isn't clear if a screenwriter has been hired yet, or if Jonathan Levine will adapt the novel himself.

Legend will be published by Penguin in November, with a massive initial run of 350,000 copies.
