Michael Cera has signed on to reunite with his Arrested Development co-star Will Arnett in Warner Bros.' highly-anticipated The LEGO Batman Movie. Will Arnett is reprising his voice role as Batman from last year's animated blockbuster The Lego Movie, with Michael Cera set to voice the superhero's sidekick, Robin. No other voice cast members have signed on at this time.

Very little is known about The LEGO Batman Movie's story at this time, but producer Chris Miller revealed back in November that this animated adventure will cover "every era of Batman filmmaking." The producer also revealed that The LEGO Batman Movie, another spinoff Ninjago and The Lego Movie Sequel will all be a part of a "shared universe," similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the inclusion of Robin, it's possible that this animated movie could also include a plethora of Batman characters in mini-figure form, such as The Joker, The Riddler and Catwoman, just to name a few.

It's also unclear if Elizabeth Banks will return for The LEGO Batman Movie as Wyldstyle, Batman's girlfriend from The Lego Movie. Warner Bros. has set a February 10, 2017 release date for The LEGO Batman Movie, putting it up against 20th Century Fox's The Mountain Between Us and Universal's highly-anticipated sequel Fifty Shades Darker. 20th Century Fox's The Maze Runner: The Death Cure opens one week later on February 17, 2017.

Chris McKay, who served as the animation supervisor on The Lego Movie, will direct from a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith. The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are producing alongside Roy Lee and Dan Lin. No production schedule was given at this time. It is believed that both Michael Cera and Will Arnett will return to the Arrested Development set in early 2016. Arrested Development Season 5 will then debut later that year, revolving around a murder mystery with Buster Bluth at the center.

Michael Cera will next be seen in A Very Murray Christmas and Sony's animated comedy Sausage Party, which is set for release on August 12, 2016. The actor voices Sal Viscuso on Adult Swim's Childrens' Hospital, and he recently had a guest-starring arc on FX's Louie. Do you think Michael Cera is a good fit to voice Robin in The LEGO Batman Movie?
