Just one month after Michael Cera signed on to provide the voice for Batman's sidekick Robin, The LEGO Batman Movie has found its main villain. Variety reports that Zach Galifianakis is in talks to voice The Joker in this animated adventure. Will Arnett reprises his role from last year's blockbuster The Lego Movie as The Dark Knight.

No specific plot details have been released yet, but producer Chris Miller said in November that this animated superhero movie will span every era of Batman filmmaking. With that being said, it's certainly possible that practically every Batman villain could be featured in this animated spinoff. It isn't known what other classic Batman characters are being eyed for The LEGO Batman Movie, but there certainly are plenty to choose from.

Chris McKay, who served as the animation co-director and animation supervisor on The Lego Movie, is directing from a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith (Beetlejuice 2). Warner Bros has set a February 10, 2017 release date for The LEGO Batman Movie, which will go up against The Mountain Between Us and the highly-anticipated sequel Fifty Shades Darker. Given the popularity of The Lego Movie, The LEGO Batman Movie should be able to hold its own at the box office.

Chris Miller and Phil Lord are producing The LEGO Batman Movie alongside Dan Lin. Zach Galifianakis stars in the upcoming comedy Masterminds, which was set for release on October 9, but has since been delayed due to Relativity Media's bankruptcy proceedings. He also has Keeping Up with the Joneses and The Incredible Mr. Limpet in various stages of development. He is coming off a role in Best Picture winner Birdman.
