We reported a few weeks ago that Clint Eastwood was directing a biopic on former FBI head J. Edgar Hoover and now it seems the director may have found his star. According to Deadline New York, Leonardo DiCaprio is in early negotiations to portray J. Edgar Hoover in the biopic Hoover.

Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black is writing the film for Eastwood to direct, with Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer producing. The film was originally set up at Universal, but now that Eastwood is involved, it was said the film will likely end up at Warner Bros., where Eastwood's Malpaso production company has resided for decades.

The film will delve into Hoover's early years as he mobilized the Federal Bureau of Investigation and will, "peel back the curtain on the life of Hoover."
