Warner Bros. has acquired the Michael Armour novel The Road Home, which is being developed as a vehicle for Leonardo DiCaprio to star in and produce.

The book is set during the Great Depression, centering on Creek (Leonardo DiCaprio), a war-torn California rancher who is asked to investigate a murder, a case which the local police are dragging their feet on.

Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart) will direct from his own screenplay adaptation. He will also produce alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way partner Jennifer Davisson Killoran. Both Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran produced Scott Cooper's upcoming thriller Out of the Furnace, a project which Leonardo DiCaprio was originally slated to star in.

No production schedule was given for this adaptation.
