Leonardo DiCaprio has signed on to star in and produce an adaptation of Blood on Snow by Jo Nesbø (Headhunters).

The story follows a hitman who is tasked with killing his boss' wife. The only problem is the assassin begins to fall in love with her. The novel will be published next spring by Knopf, followed by the sequel book Blood on Snow 2: More Blood in 2015. The author wrote both books under the pseudonym Tom Buchanan, who will actually become the victim in his 2016 book The Kidnapping, which is somewhat connected to the Blood on Snow series. It isn't known if Warner Bros. plans on optioning the other two books as well.

Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Leonardo DiCaprio's partner at Appian Way Productions, is producing along with Langley Park's Kevin McCormick. Jo Nesbø and Niclas Salomonsson are serving as executive producers.

Leonardo DiCaprio most recently starred in Django Unchained and The Great Gatsby. He will next be seen in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street.
