‘Life of Pi’ 'James Cameron' and 'Richard Parker' Featurettes

If you want to promote a 3D movie, there is no better ambassador/spokesman than Avatar director James Cameron. It's like getting President Barack Obama to endorse a local Congressional candidate. 20th Century Fox has unleashed a new featurette for their drama Life of Pi, featuring director Ang Lee discussing the usage of 3D, with James Cameron throwing his two cents in as well. The studio has also debuted another featurette that explores the real Bengal tiger used in the movie, named Richard Parker. I'm not quite sure why a tiger needs a first and a last name, but who am I to judge. Go behind-the-scenes of this adaptation of Yann Martel's novel, due out in theaters November 21.

Life of Pi was released November 21st, 2012.

The tiger has two names for a comical reason that is explained in the novel. The name Richard Parker is also mentioned a lot before you finally find out who 'he' is. Read the book first next time, perhaps?
