Actor Jackie Earle Haley has joined the growing cast of Lincoln for DreamWorks Pictures and director Steven Spielberg.

Jackie Earle Haley will portray Alexander Stevens, the Confederate States vice-president during the Civil War, and an enemy of President Abraham Lincoln's anti-slavery agenda. Jackie Earle Haley joins a cast which already includes Daniel Day-Lewis as the title character, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and John Hawkes.

Steven Spielberg is directing Lincoln from a screenplay by Tony Kushner (Munich). Production will begin sometime this fall.

Last night we reported that Steven Spielberg is eyeing a late 2012 release for Lincoln, sometime after the Presidential elections.
