Lindsay Lohan and adult film star James Deen have joined the cast of The Canyons, a new indie project from director Paul Schrader and writer Bret Easton Ellis. Here's what Bret Easton Ellis had to say about the casting, through his Twitter account.

The drama is being financed through a successful Kickstarter campaign, which raised over $150,000. The story follows five twenty-somethings in Los Angeles, as they try to attain power and success. Lindsay Lohan will play Tara and Paul Deen is portraying Christian, although no further details were given regarding the characters. Braxton Pope is producing the indie drama.
