According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lions Gate Entertainment announced it will release a selection of movies that can be played on Sony Corp.'s PSP handheld device, making it the first film company to support the new format that isn't related to Sony. Saw, Open Water and The Punisher, along with such catalog titles as Total Recall and Rambo: First Blood, will be among an initial 12 movies the company is releasing on Universal Media Discs.

"When we first saw the machine and started talking to Sony, we immediately decided it was going to be a winner, both from the gaming perspective and from the perspective of people watching movies on the go," Lions Gate Entertainment president Steve Beeks said.
