According to Variety, Lions Gate-based shingle Sobini Films has acquired the spec script Prey, a psychological thriller from Jerrold E. Brown.

Sobini has a first-look deal with Lions Gate, where Amin is a vice chairman, and says it plans to immediately look for a director with the intention of starting production in early 2006.

Prey follows a man who sets out on a solo hunting expedition in the middle of winter and severely injures his leg. He is rescued by a mysterious trapper whose intentions are more sinister than he leads the hunter to believe.

Sobini is in production on Peaceful Warrior, directed by Victor Salva and starring Nick Nolte, Scott Mechlowicz, Amy Smart and Agnes Bruckner. Pic is an adaptation of Dan Millman's book "Way of the Peaceful Warrior."

Sobini's first studio feature, Paramount and Lions Gate co-production The Prince & Me, was released in spring 2004 and grossed $28 million domestically.
