Logan Lerman Officially Peter Parker in New ‘Spider-Man’ Reboot?

Logan Lerman just may be the new Peter Parker Last month we reported that, contrary to previous reports, Logan Lerman had not been offered the title role in the Untitled Spider-Man Reboot. Now, according to Hitfix, it seems that Lerman has actually been offered the role.

While the site reports that contract negotiations haven't taken place yet, a source told the site that Lerman is, "almost 100% locked" to play Peter Parker. It was said that Lerman beat out other actors such as Anton Yelchin, Patrick Fugit, Jesse Eisenberg and Johnny Simmons.

Lerman last starred in the film Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Lightning Thief, which was released in February and also in last year's action film Gamer. We'll be sure to keep you posted on this breaking story as soon as more information comes in.

The Amazing Spider-Man was released July 3rd, 2012.

uhm, has anyone looked the story up since this got posted? The source this came from, bogus. Sony's reporting the story is BS and Lerman's all but completely out of the running and not their choice.

Change is always difficult, so, any other actor filling Tobey McGuires' short shoes has his work cut out for him. I've only seen Logan Lerman in 3:10 to Yuma & thought he was a good actor in that movi alone...The Percy Jackson looks good to me from the trailers, but, haven't seen it yet...though, my early opinion is that Logan can act & seems to be the right actor to takeover the Spiderman reboot (thank God for this reboot - Spiderman3 & McGuire - I'm hating on you). At this early stage of Logan's career, you have to put your faith in Sony Pictures, who has many executives, stockholders, ardent fans, etc. to please when making their casting decision in their star hero...they only have millions/billions in movie/TV/DVD/merchandising rights riding on their decision of who can portray teenage/nerdy Peter Parker with action/adventure fun & some gravitas.

don't give a sh*t about cast as long as they can do the job. its the script and director they have to get right and sony to f*ck off and let these people do there jobs without interference from them. still wisj marvel could get back the rights :(

Haha... and kept us talkin' all weekend. Reported on "Movieblend"... "Earlier this weekend we told you here about a rumor being reported by the website "HitFix" in which they claimed that Percy Jackson and the Olympians star Logan Lerman was the frontrunner to be Peter Parker in Sony's new Spider-Man reboot. They were wrong."

Note even gonna touch this movie. Sure, I agree that Spider-Man 3 was pretty bad, but I also ABSOLUTELY HATED Percy Jackson. I don't think this kid can act, even if it is in the role of a teenage Spider-Man. Get someone talented, like anyone who isn't a child actor.

Who knows how this re-boot will do? Hopefully, they won't reuse the same storyline of the previous three.

All I know is this,ejk1 I agree with u totally,Now here's what I think of this whole thing.......

Lerman as Peter Parker/Spider-Man he will be great, not only because he fits the role, but because he will surprise us all.As far as story which is the main factor of any movie.I hope to god the director knows the comics EXTREMELY well.Villans need to be nailed on the head immediately including with the amazing story.I mean honestly we as comic books need a jaw dropping completely amazing spidey movie that will make us agree on the fact that this was the movie we were waiting for since forever.Another thing that really needs to hit hard is the stunts,I mean how Peter makes his transition from ordinary to extraordinary I want these guys to blow our socks off.Lerman has to nail both Peter & Spidey to a tee.We need to see both sides, see the struggle & hardships as Peter as well as some goofy antics but we also need to see the wise crack antics of our favorite web head.I want to be able to tell the difference btwn Spidey & Peter.I also would like to see Spidey's full agility & how he outsmarts his opponents. All in all I want this movie to lay the doubts to everyone that thinks this reboot of spidey will suck & shut the naysayers & skeptics up.

I'm willing to give this reboot a shot. I just saw Meet Bill and Lerman is in that too, I haven't seen any of his other movies, but I thought he was good in Bill and he certainly looks like he could be a better Spiderman than Toby McGuire. I loved the first two films, but I don't think McGuire was great in the roll, he was good when he had the mask on, but I think there's room to top his performance. I hope they get a good villain or do Venom right this time, too bad they used up Doctor Octopus. I'm hoping for the Lizard myself.

Id give him a chance, but they need to learn their mistakes from 3- drama, MJ being caught yet again, Venom's rushed 15 mins of fame( and apparently camera shy) i mean come on anyone else pissed when he kept turning back to eddie? With so new fresh ideas this could work.....

me, if there was a spiderman 4, would of had lizard be the villain, mj dies and gwen becomes peter's new girlfriend

If Lerman has the desire to do what's necessary for the role, then he will be fine. The story is the most important factor, not the actor. As for everyone that wanted Spider-Man 4: Why? Did you really need to see MJ get kidnapped again? I think many of the people clamoring for a fourth movie right now were disgusted at the possibility of seeing Anne Hathaway play the Vultress a few months ago. Insert's not only right about 3 not being good, but I'll add that it was overly predictable. The last forty-five minutes of that movie were the most frustrating minutes I've ever spent in a movie theater. I knew everything that was going to happen. I didn't want to see that again, which is why I'm fine with this reboot. Hopefully, a fresh direction will lead to fresh stories.
