Jackie Earle Haley has finalized a deal to join the cast of Focus Features and Millennium Films' London Has Fallen, a follow-up to last year's action-thriller Olympus Has Fallen.

Olympus Has Fallen stars Gerard Butler (Secret Service Agent Mike Banning), Aaron Eckhart (President Benjamin Asher), Morgan Freeman (Speaker Of the House Trumbull), Radha Mitchell (Leah), Angela Bassett (Secret Service Director Lynn Jacobs) and Melissa Leo (Secretary of Defense Ruth McMillan) are all reprising their roles for the sequel, with Jackie Earle Haley becoming the first new casting addition. He will portray Deputy Chief Mason, although no further character details were given.

The story brings the action to London, as Banning and Trumbull accompany President Asher to attend the funeral of the British Prime Minister, where a deadly plot is uncovered to kill all of the world's leaders in one fell swoop.

Babak Najafi (Easy Money: Hard to Kill) stepped in last month to replace departing director Fredrik Bond, working from a script by Christian Gudegast and Olympus Has Fallen writers Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt. Production is scheduled to begin sometime this month.

Jackie Earle Haley most recently starred in the Sony reboot RoboCop.
