Fans certainly seem to be excited for London Has Fallen, the follow-up to the 2013 smash hit surprise Olympus Has Fallen. Sadly, those fans will have to wait a little longer for the movie to arrive. Originally set for release on October 2 of this year, Gramercy Pictures is moving the action-packed thriller to January 22, 2016. This comes shortly after 20th Century Fox set director Ridley Scott's sci-fi thriller The Martian for October 2. The trailer, which features Matt Damon as an astronaut stranded on Mars, has certainly impressed sci-fi fans and general audiences alike. So the move makes perfect sense.

London Has Fallen begins after the British Prime Minister passes away. His funeral then becomes a target of a terrorist organization to destroy some of the world's most powerful leaders, devastate the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. The only hope of stopping it rests on the shoulders of the President of the United States (Aaron Eckhart) and his formidable Secret Service head (Gerard Butler), and an English MI-6 agent (Charlotte Riley) who rightly trusts no one. The film also stars Morgan Freeman, Jackie Earle Haley and Angela Bassett.

In its new release date, London Has Fallen will square off with the thriller Criminal, which features a stellar ensemble cast that includes Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot, Gary Oldman, Kevin Costner, Tommy Lee Jones, Alice Eve and Michael Pitt. Also releasing that same day are the horror thriller The Boy starring The Walking Dead's Lauren Cohan and Risen starring Harry Potter star Tom Felton. What will you be seeing come this January?
