British actor James Frain (Tron: Legacy, Water for Elephants) has joined the cast of Lone Ranger for Walt Disney Pictures and director Gore Verbinski.

The actor will portray a foreman who oversees Chinese and Native American railroad workers for the villain Latham Cole (Tom Wilkinson). Armie Hammer stars as the title character, with Johnny Depp portraying Tonto. Helena Bonham Carter, Ruth Wilson, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, and Dwight Yoakam also star.

Gore Verbinski is directing Lone Ranger from a screenplay by Justin Haythe, Ted Elliott, and Terry Rossio, with Jerry Bruckheimer producing. We reported in October that production will start on February 13.
