Last week, Universal Pictures announced that production has begun on their secretive Lonely Island movie, which stars longtime The Lonely Island collaborators Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer. Today we have word that Saturday Night Live alum Tim Meadows has joined the cast of this comedy, which is now titled Conner4Real. It isn't known how many other major roles have yet to be cast, with shooting already under way.

The story centers on Conner (Andy Samberg), a rapper whose latest album bombs, which forces him to reunite with his former boy band. Tim Meadows is playing Harry, Conner's, "constantly upbeat and overworked manager." No details were given for who Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer may play, but it's possible that they will portray some of Conner's former boy band mates. The story is said to be a parody of musical concert documentaries such as Justin Bieber's Believe and Katy Perry: Part of Me.

Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer are directing from a script they co-wrote with Andy Samberg. Judd Apatow is producing the comedy for Universal, although a specific release date has not been given yet. Tim Meadows wrote for and starred in Saturday Night Live from 1991 to 2000. He will next be seen on the big screen in Judd Apatow's Trainwreck, and he also recently starred on NBC's Marry Me.
