Luc Besson's EuropaCorp has landed a deal for a film adaptation of Jacques Tardi's classic comic book series Aventures Extraordinaires d'Adele Blanc-Sec. According to Variety, the rights for the classic comic were negotiated by graphic novel publisher Casterman and studio EuropaCorp.

Aventures Extraordinaires d'Adele Blanc-Sec is a story about an attractive novelist who is pursued by crooked cops, horrible monsters, wicked villains and several hopeless lovers. The first book was published in 1976 and is set between 1911 and 1922 in a Paris that has been torn apart by the First World War.

Aventures Extraordinaires d'Adele Blanc-Sec is scheduled for a 2009 release.
