On Wednesday, Total Film Magazine unveiled the cover for their May 2015 issue, which features Mad Max: Fury Road stars Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy. Today, the publication has released three new photos, which gives us a better look at Charlize Theron's mechanical arm, Tom Hardy battling with an unspecified enemy, and "The Five Wives" played by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Zoë Kravitz, Riley Keough, Courtney Eaton and Abbey Lee. Total Film also spoke with Charlize Theron, who revealed that director George Miller wanted a woman to stand alongside Tom Hardy's Max Rockatansky.

"George [Miller] really wanted a woman to stand alongside Max, and that was all I knew, and I just thought, 'Whoa, for a woman to stand next to him in that world, that would be pretty f---ing cool.' He was really kind of exploring women in this world at every age and there was something, selfishly, that I thought was almost better than Max. It's very hard for a woman to feel that way when she steps into a world like that."

Mad Max: Fury Road centers on Max, who believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows. Take a look at the new photos below, and stay tuned for more on Mad Max: Fury Road as we get closer to the May 15 release date.
