Magic City is heading to the big screen with a new movie based on the Starz TV series. Bruce Willis and Bill Murray are joining original cast members Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Olga Kurylenko, Danny Huston and Kelly Lynch.

Original series creator Mitch Glazer will direct the movie based on his show, which was set in 1959 Miami, shortly after the Cuban revolution. Jeffrey Dean Morgan starred as Ike Evans, proprietor of the glamorous Miramar Playa hotel in Miami, who was forced to make a deal with a mobster played by Danny Huston. Olga Kurylenko is returning as Ike's wife Vera, with Kelly Lynch reprising her role as Meg Bannock. No details were given for Bruce Willis and Bill Murray's roles, but the movie will be set in the year 1962.

Brett Ratner is producing through his RatPac company, alongside Mitch Glazer, AI Film's Len Blavatnik, Onex Corporation's Gerry Schwartz, Shangri-La Entertainment's Steve Bing and Alan Helene. QED will introduce the project to buyers next week at the American Film Market.

Here's what QED's Bill Block had to say about the project in a statement.

"Mitch is a fantastic creative partner and we're thrilled to collaborate with him again. We loved Magic City the series and know that with Mitch's sensational script and this outstanding cast, it will translate beautifully to the big screen."

Mitch Glazer made his directorial debut with Passion Play, and he also wrote the screenplays for Scrooged, Great Expectations, The Recruit and the upcoming Rock the Kasbah.
