Julia Ormond will play Lara in Man of Steel Director Zack Snyder has found the last major piece of his Man of Steel cast, with Julia Ormond in talks to play Lara, the mother of Kal-El.

We reported last week that Russell Crowe has joined the cast as Jor-El, the birth father of Clark Kent (Henry Cavill). Our report indicated that Lara, Clark Kent's birth mother, was the last major role left to be cast in Man of Steel. Julia Ormond's deal is expected to close quickly.

Zack Snyder is directing Man of Steel from a screenplay by David S. Goyer, which was developed by Christopher Nolan.

Man of Steel will start shooting sometime next month.

Hey this cast is epic in my opinion. Now please for the love of god Snyder, don't mess this film up. I have seen where movies have Oscar stars and Oscar nominees and it end up being the biggest flop ever. But I got my fingers crossed that this superman film will be the best comic book movie made yet.

Cool. I don't have much input here, but I will say I am excited.

Not bad. Now all we need is for a leaked picture of Cavil in the Kryptonian suit. Assuming of course we're gonna get the good old look or something from the concept art gallery

I use to love Ormond back when she was all over the place but then she kind of disappeared, very happy to see her in this.
