The ass-kicking star of The Raid: Redemption, Iko Uwais, has signed on for a role in Man of Tai Chi, the directorial debut of Keanu Reeves.

The story is set in Beijing and follows a young martial artist (Tiger Chen), whose exceptional skills present him with both fantastic opportunities and tough personal choices. Iko Uwais will fight Tiger Chen in one of the movie's final scenes. Keanu Reeves is also starring, although no details were given regarding his character.

Michael G. Cooney wrote the screenplay, with Lemore Syvan and Daxing Zhang producing. Universal Pictures is co-financing and distributing along with Village Roadshow Asia, China Film Group, and Wanda Media Group.
