We reported back in April that a superhero sequel could be moving forward without the star of the original film and now it seems he will be coming back and will have new directors as well. Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Crank directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are in early talks to direct Ghost Rider 2.

Nicolas Cage is also in early talks to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze, but the site reports that it isn't clear if anyone else from the original Ghost Rider film at this time. David S. Goyer wrote the script but the site reports that Neveldine and Taylor could possibly do a rewrite on the script as well.

It was said that while negotiations are still in early stages at this time, Columbia hopes to have principal photography started by this fall. Columbia is trying to get the film moving because the rights would revert back to Disney-controlled Marvel if Columbia can't get a sequel in production.

We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further developments surrounding Ghost Rider 2 as soon as we have more information.
