It sounds like Puck may be heading to prison after all. Glee actor Mark Salling is now facing a minimum of 5 years behind bars after being indicted today. The man is accused of receiving and possessing child porn on both his laptop and through a flash memory drive. The actor is best known for playing high school football star and choir member Noah Puckerman on Fox's hit musical drama, which went off the air March of last year.

Salling was named in a two-count indictment, which was returned today by a federal grand jury. Salling agreed through his lawyer to surrender to federal authorities on June 3 according to the U.S. Attorney. He now faces two charges and will be arraigned at that time. Receiving child pornography carries a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years, and a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years in federal prison. This gets added to the possession charge, which also carries a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years. Says U.S. Attorney Eileen M. Decker.

"Those who download and possess child pornography create a market that causes more children to be harmed. Young victims are harmed every time an image is generated, every time it is distributed, and every time it is viewed."

In the first count, Salling is accused of receiving both a still image and a child pornography video via the Internet on December 26th, 2015. The second count claims he was in possession of two child pornography videos on December 29. Both the still image and the video depict underage girls. It is said that Department of Homeland Security special agents worked the case alongside LAPD's Internet Crimes Against Children unit.

Salling was arrested on December 30 and taken to the LAPD's Metropolitan Detention Center. There, bail was set at $20,000. At the time of the arrest, Mark Salling had just wrapped filming on Adi Shankar's drama God and Secrets, which was shot in Los Angeles. The arrest isn't expected to impact the completion of the movie. Here's what the director had to say in a statement at the time.

"Today I was made aware of the serious allegations against Salling as a result of numerous media outlets hounding me as to whether he would remain in 'Adi Shankar's Gods & Secrets. I won't feed our growing pitchfork culture. I'm going to wait for all the facts to arrive and if in fact these allegations are true, I will immediately take action which includes removing his scenes from the project."

It isn't yet known if Salling's scenes will be cut from the movie. The actor got his start in Hollywood at a very young age. At 14, he appeared in the horror movie Children Of The Corn: The Gathering. He is the third industry figure this year to be arrested on charges of child porn. Director Jace Alexander was arrested for possession and sharing of 'obscene performances of sexual conduct by children less than 17 years of age', according to Deadline. Just one month later, Subway spokesman Jared Fogle was arrested on charges of receiving and distributing child pornography. He has since been sentenced to 15 years in prison. Mark Salling's sentencing is forthcoming.
