Mark Wahlberg is set to play drug lord Jon Roberts, who after returning from Vietnam headed to Miami and formed a relationship with the Medellin cartel. There he makes billions of dollars until he is put in jail to serve a decade for his crimes. According to Variety, this untitled project will begin as soon as the writers' strike ends.
Peter Berg is directing the film. He last directed The Kingdom and is currently in post-production on the Will Smith super hero comedyHancock.
Walhberg and Berg's upcoming collaboration doesn't have a set start date at this time.
