We haven't seen a trailer yet for director Ridley Scott's The Martian quite yet, but while we wait for that footage to debut, 20th Century Fox has debuted a new viral video, which introduces us to the main characters. Matt Damon stars as astronaut Mark Watney, who gives viewers a glimpse into the Hermes space shuttle, introducing us to characters such as pilot Rick Martinez (Michael Peña), Melissa Lewis (Jessica Chastain), Dr. Chris Beck (Sebastian Stan), Alex Vogel (Aksel Hennie) and Beth Johanssen (Kate Mara). The video also features a number of facts and tidbits of trivia about each crew member. This video debuted on real-life astronaut Michael J. Massimino's official Twitter page.

During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. The Martian is slated for release on November 25, going up against Creed, The Good Dinosaur, Midnight Special and the Untitled Christmas Eve Project.

Cast members who aren't featured in this video include Kristen Wiig, Mackenzie Davis, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Jeff Daniels. We'll keep you posted as soon as the first trailer debuts, although we're not quite sure when that might happen. Until then, check out this new video offering our first look at The Martian.
