Yesterday, it was widely reported that Scott Reynolds has joined the writing staff for Netflix's upcoming Marvel series Iron Fist. Though, this information has not been confirmed by anyone associated with the actual show itself. Now we have word that the lead actor playing Marvel's Iron Fist has actually been cast, but is begin kept away from the spotlight for now. So, who is this mystery man?

We have no idea. But Mike Colter, who plays Marvel's Luke Cage, does. In a recent interview with Collider, the actor was asked if he looks forward to squaring off against Iron Fist on the small screen. And that's when Mike Colter dropped the bomb that someone is already in place to play the character. Though this is also more production info that has never been confirmed by Netflix or Marvel, and may not be for quite some time.

Fans have been dying to know exactly who is filling the shoes of Danny Rand in what will be Netflix's fourth Marvel series following the extremely successful Marvel's Daredevil and Marvel's Jessica Jones, with Marvel's Luke Cage first season already shot and awaiting an official stream date. It has long been speculated that Ryan Phillippe may be playing the iconic character, though that rumor was shot down some time ago. At one point, it was believed that Marvel was seeking out an Asian-American for the role, but it has sine been revealed that a white male will play the part.

Thus far, there has never been a short list of actors who were presumably up for the role of Danny Rand. So it's anyone's guess as to whom the incoming actor may be. When asked if he was excited about shooting future scenes with Iron Fist, Mike Colter seemed pretty happy to be involved with such a epic project. He had this to say about the recent casting of the actor.

"The actor has been cast, but he's in a basement somewhere. When the time is right, they'll let him up and tell him where he is. I am [excited]. I'll get a nice little break, after doing Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Whether I'm in [his show], I don't know, but there's The Defenders."

It isn't known how soon we will learn the identity behind Danny Rand. Or why Marvel is sitting on the information, since they generally announce any given actor as soon as they are signed. Former Dexter executive producer Scott Buck has signed on to serve as showrunner on Marvel's Iron Fist. Scott Reynolds previously served as a Dexter staff writer, so the two have a good working rapport to bring to the series.

Returning to New York City after missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist. Marvel's Iron Fist is the fourth series as part of an overall deal between Marvel Television and Netflix. It isn't known when it may debut, but many believe it will be towards the back end of 2016. All four series will crossover in the miniseries event The Defenders sometime in 2017.
