The end of 2013's Thor: The Dark World very much hinted that Tom Hiddleston's Loki would return in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok. But the actor has not confirmed his return. And in a recent interview with MTV, he even hints that he might sit this next one out. Is it possible that Tom Hiddleston is done with Loki in the MCU?

Tom Hiddleston has played Loki as the main villain in two Marvel movies, Thor and Marvel's The Avengers. He then took the character in a slightly different direction in Thor: The Dark World, becoming an anti-hero of sorts. After these three major appearances, Tom Hiddleston is starting to wonder if fans are sick of seeing him don the green and yellow suit. He's also very concerned about repeating himself as an artist and an actor. He says the following, refusing to confirm that he'll be back in Thor: Ragnarok.

""I never quite know whether people want to see him again or whether people want to move on...I can't really take the temperature on it. I would try not to repeat myself. I would try to do something new. I never want to feel like I'm retreading the same steps. I guess it's like any actor who plays a character over and over again. I wonder what it's like for the guys who play the Avengers!"

Just common sense says Loki will be back for Thor: Ragnarok, and though various actors have played the same character in the MCU thus far, it's hard to imagine anyone else taking over the role from Tom Hiddleston. Right now, he clearly wants to dodge the question. Tom Hiddleston previously stated that he'd signed on for five more Marvel movies after Thor. With three already done, its been speculated that he will show up next in Thor: Ragnarok followed by Avengers: Infinity War Part I and Avengers: Infinity War - Part II. But as the actor expressed in a previous interview, that could change.

"When I signed my contract, I signed to play Loki in five more Marvel movies, but they were unspecified. So, if there will be more movies or not remains to be seen, but I like the idea of Loki turning up in the shadows when people least expect him, but you never know these things, the world changes and the things change, but I feel like I know who Loki is, so I wouldn't mind."

Tom Hiddleston will more than likely reprise his role as Loki in Thor: Ragnarok, and could just be fan-baiting to see how much love flows his way. Maybe he's angling for a bigger part in the sequel. However it plays out, we're sure we won't see someone else slide into the costume for years to come. What do you think? Do you want to see Loki return, or are you getting as sick of this Norse God as Tom Hiddleston seems to be?
