In the coming years, we're going to get a Hasbro Cinematic Universe led by G.I. Joe, which has already previously gotten two standalone movies. At this time, it does not sound like Transformers will crossover into this realm, but that's always possible. Instead, Joe and his crew will be teaming up with other such Hasbro properties as Rom: Space Knight, The Micronauts, and M.A.S.K. All properties that younger audiences probably aren't too familiar with yet. To help quell this, and establish a foothold amongst young ticket buyers, IDW is first introducing some of these characters in the pages of all-new comic book series. ROM and Micronauts comics have previously been announced. Now comes word that M.A.S.K. will bring back all its action and excitement in a new release coming this fall.

Here's the official PR: Joining other recent Hasbro additions to the IDW Publishing slate, ROM and Micronauts, M.A.S.K. will become the latest property to receive its own comic series. The fans have spoken and so by popular demand, M.A.S.K. will hit comic book stores later this year from the creative team of writer Brandon Easton (Marvel's Agent Carter, Transformers: Deviations) and artist Tony Vargas (Rot & Ruin, TMNT: Shadows of the Past Board Game). It is the editorial and creative team's intention to focus attention on the multi-cultural heritage of the show, presenting a contemporary M.A.S.K. to fans in a unique, yet familiar, way. M.A.S.K. launches this November as an ongoing series featuring cover art by the multi-talented Tommy Lee Edwards. To hold you over until then, this new era of Hasbro titles has already begun with Micronauts #1 on sale now and ROM #0 kicking off on Free Comic Book Day on May 7. At this time, M.A.S.K. does not have a release date. The next big Hasbro movie heading our way will be Transformers 5, which arrives June 23, 2017. It will be followed by G.I. Joe 3 in 2018. The rest of the Hasbro Cinematic Universe slate has yet to be full revealed. In the mean time, we'll have to enjoy all these great properties via the comic book page.
