Back in April, we reported that Kick-Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow had signed on to rewrite the script and possibly direct the gestating Masters of the Universe movie reboot. Today, Columbia Pictures Senior Vice President DeVon Franklin revealed that the latest screenplay is finished, posting an image of the script's cover page dated December 24, 2014 on his Twitter account. It remains to be seen how this script will be received by the studio, or if it will move past the scripting stage.

As you can see in the photo below, Jeff Wadlow is just the latest writer to tackle the Masters of the Universe script, alongside previous writers Alex Litvak & Michael Finch (Predators), Terry Rossio (The Lone Ranger) and Richard Wenk (The Equalizer). No story details were given at this time, but the plot is based on the 1980s animated TV series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

It's worth noting that Jeff Wadlow is also attached to 20th Century Fox's X-Force, but it isn't known if or when that project will move forward. We'll have to wait and see whether or not Jeff Wadlow's script is good enough to receive a green light from the studio. We'll be sure to keep you posted as soon as more details regarding Masters of the Universe surface. Are you excited to see Masters of the Universe back on the big screen?
