Matt LeBlanc will go through a reinvention, of sorts, for a new TV series. According to Variety, LeBlanc has signed on to star in the new series Episodes.

The series, which will be produced both by Showtime and the BBC, will center on a British couple with a hit TV series, which becomes remade as a watered-down American series. LeBlanc will play a version of himself and will be the actor starring in the American spin-off series on the show.

Friends executive producer David Crane co-created the series with Jeffrey Klarik. Production will begin this winter, shooting in both Hollywood and London, for a six-episode run. The series will premiere on both Showtime and BBC 2 in 2010.
