Megan Fox to Star in ‘Jonah Hex’ and ‘Fathom’

The actress goes from dealing with giant robots to the Old West and under the sea.

Megan Fox seems to be angling to set herself up as the Geek Queen of Hollywood, moving from staring roles in Transformers and Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen to two other comic adaptations - Warner Brother's Jonah Hex and Fox Atomic's Fathom. The Hollywood Reporter announced that Fox is starring and helping to develop Fathom, and is in the final stage of negotiations for Jonah Hex.

In Jonah Hex, Fox will take the role of Leila, a gun-wielding female bounty hunter and love interest to Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin). She will join Hex as they track down a voodoo practitioner (John Malkovich), who is trying to raise an army of zombies to liberate the South.

For Fathom, Fox will take the role of Aspen, the main character from the comic created by the recently deceased Michael Turner. In the comic and film, Aspen discovers that her affinity for water is due to her status as a member of a race of aquatic humanoids who have the ability to control water.

While the release of these two films is still a ways off, fans of Ms. Fox can see her this year in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, opening June 24, 2009 and in the Diablo Cody-directed Jennifer's Body, which opens September 18, 2009.

Jonah Hex was released June 18th, 2010.

Not much of a Megan Fox fan... won't see this, unless it looks cool by the trailer.

Hmmmm, both sound pretty interesting, but zombies trying to liberate the south, sounds to B-movie. Sounds like Jonah will get a limited release like War-Zone, i can't see it going mainstream commericial with a idea like that.

It's like giving Romero a romance, it just doesn't go in my book and plus side if its rated NC-17, which is most probable, the the release will be limited.

Also is it just me or do zombies seems to be returning to the big screen

Fathom on the other hand could be interesting, this whole underwater trying to find who you are... or find a lost loved one seems to work, alla Little Mermaid & Finding Nemo are 2 prime examples, it could also have some spectacular cinematography.

I don't hate Micheal Turner. I've just never read a Fathom book.

                      megan fox is over-rated.

the only she is famous is because she is hot.

i prefer actresses with talent, or SOMETHING besides just nice aesthetics.

I'm sure that Megan Fox would be so thrilled to see that no one seems to have any opinion on her as an actress, but is instead talking about how good she'll look in each of her upcoming films.

How can you not like Michael Turner, that guy was one hell of a gifted artist, may he Rest in Peace.

Megan fox as Aspen you could watch the movie on mute and still enjoy it.

I'm not a fathom fan. But it could work out. I hate Micheal Turner won't be able to see it, but I'm not sure as megan Fox being Aspen. She's kinda boney.

Oh no,i guess she will put clothes on,its about her being raised by humans on a ship and stuff...with powers...and i think she looks for her father i think.

                                  • black-moon • 7 years ago

                                    Jonah = I might watch it,sounds good.

Fathom = If shes going to be in a bikini for the whole movie and looking sexy like that,I.WILL.SEE.IT.AND.I.WILL.LOVE.IT.

The story line for the Comic sounds kinda boring..something about her finding her father or something.(Who cares! Megan and other women in hot clothes for about 1:30,[maybe longer]whats to get bored about??)

She definitely looks the part of Aspen

If she is angling herself for the "Geek Queen" they should take Wonder Woman out of developmental hell and cast her as Wonder Woman.
