Ti West had a killer 2022 with the first two installments in the X trilogy, but Mia Goth says that the best is yet to come.

The star of X and Pearl, Goth tells Variety that the third movie, MaXXXine will blow its predecessors out of the (alligator-infested) water. Though the film, which serves as a direct sequel to X, is still in its early stages, the actress is confident that the rapport the crew has built across three movies will translate into a terrific movie.

"It's the best script of the three by far. It's going to be the best movie of the three. We're all so tight now. This is going to be our third movie we're working on together and everyone's coming back together, so it's bringing the band all back together again. We just have a shorthand with each other. We know how everybody works and we're all so excited," she gushed in a recent interview.

MaXXXine will see Goth reprise her role as the titular aspiring adult film star, pursuing a life she deserves in 1980s Hollywood after being the sole survivor of the first movie's massacre. Though not much is known about the sequel yet, the actress—who will also serve as an executive producer on MaXXXine—promised some "pretty wild adventures" after everything Maxine went through.

"It's the biggest story of the three with the highest stakes and Maxine has gone through so much at this point. So when we find her in this new world, she's just a force to be reckoned with and she goes through some pretty wild adventures," Goth teased.

It could be awhile before MaXXXine hits the big screen—the movie is still in pre-production and its star says she's still "doing her homework" for the film—but she has no doubt that the she and the crew will make movie magic once again.

"I'm in prep with the script, doing my homework, getting everything ready. Then you let it all go once you get to set and just hope that some magic comes from it," she added.

There's no word on a release date for MaXXXine yet, but if the retro teaser trailer is any indication, she's sure to be a star. Check it out below:
