Back in June, we reported that director Darren Aronofsky wanted Christian Bale to star in his Biblical epic Noah. Today we have word that Christian Bale has passed on Noah, and Michael Fassbender is now being eyed to star.

It seems Michael Fassbender has not been officially offered the role yet, although he has discussed the project with Darren Aronofsky. We reported a few weeks back that Michael Fassbender was in talks to star in Londongrad, but that project has fallen apart since director Rupert Wyatt backed out.

Darren Aronofsky will direct Noah from a screenplay he wrote with Ari Handel, with John Logan providing a revised draft.

Production is scheduled to start next spring on Noah.
